iTunes is quietly bidding farewell to PC-type computers. Apple is gradually removing features from the legendary software to bring them into separate apps: Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple devices. You can download these three programs via the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and 11 computers.

The popular iTunes software was launched in 2001 and is now in its final stages.

Indeed, in 2019, Apple removed the famous program from its Mac computers via macOS Catalina. This has been replaced by other specific apps like Apple Music and others.

Well, now it's the turn of PCs, more precisely PCs running Windows 10 and 11, to say goodbye to iTunes.

iTunes will be completely replaced

Apple is already aiming to completely remove iTunes from Windows 10 and 11 computers.

However, this withdrawal is happening gradually, while it is still possible to use iTunes to manage our podcasts and audiobooks.

However, it is only a matter of time before Apple offers other solutions to manage these problems.

If our computer is running Windows 7 or 8, we can still use iTunes to manage our various content. However, it is important to remember that it is dangerous to use these Windows systems because they no longer receive any support from Microsoft.

Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple devices are available in the Microsoft Store

iTunes is thus replaced by three applications offered on the Microsoft Store:

Unsurprisingly, Apple Music allows us to manage our music library.

Apple TV manages our video content like shows and movies.

Finally, Apple Devices is the new application that allows us to backup, restore and sync music, movies and TV shows between a Windows computer and an iPhone or iPad.

What to do before installing these three Apple apps?

Before you abandon iTunes completely, Apple explains Some interesting points to know.

A very important folder that should not be deleted

First, we should not delete the folder: iTunes Library on our computer.

Apple Music and Apple TV in particular need access to the content we have on iTunes.

We must download all three applications

Once we download one of the above three apps, Apple will ask us to download the other two missing apps in order to completely replace iTunes.

Sign in to your Apple ID

In each of these applications, we must sign in to our Apple ID to redeem our iTunes purchases.

iTunes is limited after installing all three apps

Once we complete all these steps, our music and video content will no longer be available in iTunes. We can also no longer manage our iPhone or iPad manually from iTunes.
