A Portuguese man has reportedly won a jackpot of €213 million, equivalent to more than C$312.8 million, in Tuesday's EuroMillions draw.
“The jackpot of €213,000,000 has been won. Excellent news for one lucky person!” the lottery agency La Française des jeux rejoiced on Tuesday, hitting zeros in a press release.
At the moment, we don't know anything more about the lucky winner, except that he will come from Portugal, the EuroMillions host revealed on Tuesday.
The draw is usually held between nine European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg.
The total prize money this time was €213,887,390, which is equivalent to more than $312.8 million Canadian.
Surprisingly, the staggering sum will not surpass the record for the highest amount won in EuroMillions, while last December, an Austrian had won €240 million by participating in the cross-border draw, according to Le Parisien newspaper.
The draw also gave France a chance to end the evening with one million euros.
