JJ Keller & Associates It has expanded its VideoProtect witness camera offering and now offers it on three different platforms to improve driver safety management. The system, known for providing safety information based on video footage of drivers and road events, is now compatible with JJ Keller’s Encompass platform, MyGeotab platform and a new standalone option.
“This expansion gives fleets the freedom to choose the VideoProtects solution as part of a robust back-office platform or the new standalone option that focuses solely on identifying and remediating dangerous driving events,” said Jason Hartwig, associate director of product management at JJ Keller, in a press release.
The system uses AI-enhanced technology to detect hazards such as driver fatigue and forward collision warnings. It also monitors “trigger” events such as hard braking and collisions using built-in g-sensors, without the need for a telematics device.
When potentially dangerous events occur, the system can alert drivers with in-cab audio warnings and send video footage and event data to fleet managers, enabling targeted driver training, Mr. Hartwig said. The system includes options for driver-facing witness cameras or dual driver-facing cameras, video review and recording functions as well as live video streaming and event log recording.
