Nintendo’s pink glutton revolutionized his 3D discovery and didn’t lose his enthusiasm nor his creativity. He is also the protagonist of a new children’s novel.
Always take Kirby seriously. Always keep in mind that the sunny rides of the little pink mass are not limited to delightful retro dishes and that through his unrestrained transformation our hero is in himself revolutionary character. Sometimes it can be helpful to take it literally. In his new adventure, the first of its kind in three dimensions, our hero walks with a smile through different regions of the “Forgotten World”. But what is the world and who has forgotten it?
festive outing
The first pictures of this new Kirby surprised me. These abandoned buildings, these places emptied of all of humanity that one might think was taken from them the last of usWill they be signs that Kirby will evolve this time into a post-apocalyptic reality? The joystick is in hand, and the turbulence is less noticeable, especially since the 3D is not integrated but is closer to Bandicoot Crash crossed with Super Mario 3D Land And that the case is still based on the acquisition of multiple powers (fighting with a sword or spitting with fire or ice like a snow Queen kawaii…) and search for passages to more or less secret areas. Sour business as usual, then?
Not quite, because with sometimes unenviable creativity Super Mario Odyssey (Unless it was the plumber who “kirbyfied” his traffic with his hat), the melee glutton goes further than ever on his mission: to produce life and turmoil. at Kirby and the Forgotten World, Kirby’s taste for cross-dressing is coupled with a tendency to become one with things: a car, a building cone, a can dispenser, a ladder … in parallel, the village of Waddle Dees, frequent companions and opponents, depending on Kirby’s case, little by little reborn. On the other hand, ceremonial wanderlust (not to mention psycho-geographical drift); On the other hand, (re)forming a peaceful society. By combining the two, Kirby’s utopia flourishes.
to be a pulse
At the same time, Mana Books publishes a charming children’s novel that can shed light on the profound nature of our beloved hero. at Kirby and Kandy Palacewhose plots address a storied meal and the disappearance of chefs, Kirby appears more like a thinking character (unlike his friend Meta Knight) than an (irreparable) being of impulses.
So we jump in the snow or run to the carnival. We throw ourselves in the water and miss the joy in the supermarket. It’s mask ball, treasure hunt, obstacle course and frenetic racing. A glorious celebration of the ordinary fun of games (walk, slide, break…), but… why just play? It’s a re-enchantment of the world, “transformed” (as we say with Kirby) and ultimately less forgettable than the best way to live in it. It is a perfect practical work exercise, lesson, gift. Blessing.
