Installed since 2018 on Rue de la République French-Portuguese restaurant “O Lavrador” Offers, for the sixth year in a row, the opportunity to taste Portuguese cuisine at Christmas. With take-out service year-round, the restaurant decided to continue that momentum for the December festivities. And that’s not all. He also chose to expand his vacation menu. “We serve what we already have on the menu and other typical Portuguese Christmas dishes,” explains Johnny Pereira, O Lavrador restaurant manager.

Typical Portuguese menu

To start, we find the famous combination of cod and crab fritters, chorizo flambe on the typical terracotta pig, octopus salad, a charcuterie plate or even watermelon and country ham.
As for dishes, the choice is diverse. For fish lovers, “O Lavrador” restaurant offers different dishes from cod, salmon, sea bass or grilled sea bream and oyster skewers. Meat lovers can head for the braised chicken “churasco”, grilled pork ribs, Portuguese-style steak (“bife à portuguesa”), skewers or the “francesinha”, a typical Porto sandwich consisting of toasted bread. Beef patty, sausage, cheese and spicy tomato sauce. For the holidays, the restaurant also offers baked suckling pig and baby. You can accompany your dish with French fries, French fries, raw vegetable salad or rice.

Prices and order conditions
Johnny Pereira confirms that “the prices range from 16 to 145 euros, and it all depends on the dishes chosen.” The worst cases are suckling pigs and boys. The restaurant has no order limits : Everything is carried out at the request of the client. However, it is still better to do this in advance. “You must notify us at least 5 days before the deadline so that we can organize ourselves and order specific products such as a suckling or baby pig for example.”
To apply, nothing could be easier. Simply call the restaurant “O Lavrador” or connect with them via their social networks (Facebook and Instagram). “Some have already requested!” the manager explains with a smile.
The French-Portuguese restaurant will offer the same takeaway formula for the New Year, something to start the year off with a kick.
