The French team achieved a second success on Friday evening in Beaublanc. After drawing with England (2-0) on Wednesday evening, the Sky Blue achieved victory over Portugal after a difficult match with few chances (1-0).
The tri-colored team opened during the first half with a free kick executed by Signe Maiolo with a header led by their captain, Joachim Kai Sanda (32).
The Portuguese, who dominated the second half, failed to catch up with the French defence.
Raspberry leaders
With six points on the clock, the French team will enter the final day of the Lafarge Foot Avenir Championship on Sunday as leaders. Jean-Luc Fanouche’s players will only need a draw against Japan, clear winners of England (4-0) on Friday afternoon, to win the tournament.
