Automobili Lamborghini has introduced the Temerario, a new hybrid supercar with a 907-hp twin-turbo V8 engine. This car is the second model in Lamborghini’s High Performance Electric Vehicle (HPEV) lineup.
The Temerario combines a newly developed 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors, for a total output of 907 hp. The combustion engine alone produces 789 hp between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm. Performance features include a top speed of over 340 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.
The hybrid powertrain includes an electric motor integrated into the V8 housing and two additional motors on the front axle. This setup enables all-wheel drive and torque vectoring. A 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery is housed in the center tunnel.
Lamborghini has developed a new aluminium body for the Timerario, using high-strength alloys and manufacturing techniques to optimise weight and stiffness. The car’s design emphasises aerodynamic efficiency while introducing new design elements such as the hexagonal daytime running lights.
Inside, the Temerario features a digital cockpit with three screens, including a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 9.1-inch passenger display. New options for lightweight sports and comfort seats are available, as well as increased interior space compared to previous models.
The car offers several driving modes, including electric mode in urban environments. The optional “Alleggerita” package helps reduce weight by more than 25 kg for customers focused on the racetrack.
Bridgestone has partnered with Lamborghini to develop bespoke Potenza tires for the Temerario, including performance, all-season and winter options.
The Temerario is expected to be unveiled to the public during the 2024 Monterey Car Week. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
