lol: After more than 1,500 days of waiting, this hero will finally get a new skin

Lux, Ahri, Ezreal or even Miss Fortune, here are some of the champions with the most skins in League of Legends. Not content with having a huge amount of them, the regularity with which they get them is so amazing they usually wait less than 300 days between each appearance.

Of course, with over 160 heroes, it’s hard for Riot Games to keep everyone happy, and some of the lesser-known heroes have to wait a little longer than others. LoL monetization relies heavily on cosmetics, so it makes sense that the studio would favor the more popular characters. However, some heroes have waited a long, long time.

Dr. Mondo has fond memories of the Riot Games

Last Friday, Riot Games released a new video showing the new features and updates coming during Season 13 of League of Legends. The disappearance of Blind Mode, information about Skarner’s redesign, the studio made a lot of news. One of them relates to the themes of skins and events.

The developers have announced that they want to explore more themes this year (such as the new Fairy Court), but also Create new events for larger events which will arrive a little later (during MSI in May, and during the big summer event in the middle of the year).

In addition to exploring new themes, we’re also creating skins for heroes who haven’t had one in a while and need to be appreciated, like Udyr, Shyvana, and Mundo.

For the record, Udyr and Dr. Mundo are the only two characters who have been waiting for a new skin for more than 1000 days (and only 787 for Shivana).

  • Dr. Mondo : Frozen Prince Mundo (December 2018)
  • Audier : Udyr Dragon Oracle (August 2019)

This situation can easily be explained as the two champions have undergone a complete overhaul and, on this occasion, have had all their skins redesigned to current standards.. So we can say that they have – in a way – a new cosmetic.

Still, it’s nice to see that Riot Games is taking care of the players who love these characters and finally giving them a real new look.
