Umaro Sissoko Embalo also said that he conveyed to Emmanuel Macron the desire of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to hold a summit next month in an African country to be determined, where Portugal and France will be invited to discuss the issue of terrorism.
The Guinean president stressed that Macron’s visit, “the first by a head of state from a permanent member state of the United Nations Security Council”, represented “the revival of Guinea-Bissau”.

The French president arrived in Bissau on Wednesday evening for a visit that lasts a few hours and left the Guinean capital on Thursday after a tour that took him to Benin and Cameroon.
