The new Manchester United shirt features a vintage design with a polo neck back. Cristiano Ronaldo, who wants to leave, is part of the outreach campaign.
The return of the “polo collar”. Manchester United revealed their home shirt for the 2022-2023 season. It’s clearly red, with black adidas stripes on the sleeves and red and black triangles on the collar. Other Features: The club crest is framed and a ‘Light Tone Stripe Pattern’ is built into the jersey fabric.
“The polo collar is synonymous with Manchester United. Whether it’s up or down, it has starred in the club’s greatest moments,” said Inigo Turner, Adidas Director of Design.
Ronaldo is in the promo
The shirt design refers to the design of the 1992-93 season, which resulted in the Red Devils being crowned in the first edition of the Premier League. And according to Manchester United: “It’s also a subtle nod to some of our past greats, whose unique style on and off the pitch made their kits their own.” This is how the club invited Eric Cantona to promote this new uniform.
Cristiano Ronaldo also appeared in the promotional video released by Manchester United. It is impossible to know if this is a clue to his future. But the British press has reported in recent days that the mystery surrounding the Portuguese striker may disrupt planned communications for the shirt launch.
This new Manchester United shirt will be worn for the first time against Liverpool. It won’t be in the league, but in a friendly match, on July 12 (3pm) in Bangkok, as part of the club’s tour of Asia. A stay that would take place without Cristiano Ronaldo.
