Former Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has been placed in intensive care at a clinic in Barcelona, Spain, after his health deteriorated.
This information was published last Friday in Portuguese newspapers, including Public Television (RTB) and the business daily Journal de Negosos. According to these media, the health of the 79-year-old former Angolan leader is in a “very serious” condition.
In Luanda, there has been no official reaction on this matter, but the information has already fueled persistent rumors about the health of Jose Eduardo dos Santos. In May, social networks announced the death of the former president, which his daughter Isabel dos Santos denied on Twitter.
However, it is recognized that the second president of Angola after independence (1979 to 2017) is in a fragile state of health today. In September 2021, he returned to Angola after a prolonged medical stay in Spain of more than two years.
