As TSN has learned, the 24-year-old Russian has hired Dan Milstein’s agent for Gold Star Hockey. The latter especially represented his teammates Nikita Kucherov and Andrei Vasilevsky.

Next season, Sergachev will play the final year of a three-year contract that earns him $4.8 million annually.

He could become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2023. He will also be eligible for a contract extension soon.

The Montreal Canadiens’ first-round pick (ninth overall) scored seven goals and 31 assists, compared to 38 points in 78 regular season games in 2021-2022. He also earned 10 points in 23 playoffs.

Sergachev has been with the Bolts since June 2017, after CH replaced him to Tampa Bay for striker Jonathan Drouin. He had played the first four games of his National League career with Habs.
