Mokele from Leipzig to Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement to transfer France international defender Nordi Mukele to Paris.

Both parties committed to a non-exhaustive transfer and not a loan with a purchase option, as mentioned at the beginning. It now remains for the 24-year-old to undergo a medical before signing his contract with PSG.

The arrival of the defender, who trained at Paris Football Club and then passed through Laval and Montpellier before joining RB Leipzig in 2018, will allow PSG to have an additional solution to put the piston on the right side alongside Moroccan Achraf Hakimi. Mukiele can also play in a three-man defense, a system favored by new Parisian coach Christophe Galtier.

Young Paris

Mokele will be the third player in the summer to be signed by the French champions, after Portuguese midfielder Venetia (former Porto) and young French striker (20) Hugo Eketek (former Reims).

This transfer will also offer Mukiele, the author of impressive performances in the Bundesliga (the German vice-champion in 2021) and in the European Cups (the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2020 and the Europa League in 2022), a good offer a little earlier. World Cup in Qatar (November 21 – December 18) for a possible selection with France.

The home of Montreuil, in the Paris region, had worn his lone caper with the Blues against Finland (2-0), on September 7, 2021 in Lyon during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and entered at the end of the encounter.
