Defending world champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) was the fastest on Saturday during the first day of pre-season testing for the MotoGP World Championship at the Portimao (Portugal) circuit.
The start of the season in two weeks
He beat compatriot Luca Marini (Ducati VR46) and Spaniard Maverick Vinales (Aprilia). France’s Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), 2021 world champion and last year’s vice-champion, took 8 points.H time.
This is the second series of pre-season tests after the one held in Sepang (Malaysia) a month ago. They saw Marini set the fastest time of the three sessions combined ahead of Bagnaia and Vinales. The Portimao circuit in southern Portugal will host the first Grand Prix of the 2023 season on March 26
