Portugal's Iuri Leitao and Rui Oliveira won the madison race for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Saturday, with Italy's Elia Viviani/Simone Consonni taking silver and Denmark's Niklas Larsen/Michael Morkov taking bronze.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics has sparked strong reactions among Christians who have denounced the representation of the famous Last Supper painting by drag queens.
The Christian community is particularly dismayed by the “Celebrations” sequence, which depicts Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting “The Last Supper.” This final meal, which Jesus Christ takes surrounded by his apostles before his crucifixion, is enacted by DJ Leslie Barbara Butch, positioned in the center and equipped with a halo, accompanied by dozens of gay dancers. Then the singer Philippe Catherine, semi-naked and painted blue, lies on the large table.
The scene, which many described as “Christian-hating” or “blasphemous,” was interpreted by onlookers as a parody of the Last Supper, prompting the Vatican to add its voice to that of Christians around the world.
“The Vatican, saddened by some of the scenes at the ceremony, cannot but join the voices that have been raised in recent days to denounce the abuse suffered by many Christians,” the Vatican said in a press release.
