Founded in 1990, BluDaniel Forum It’s about to experience its 31st edition on May 20-21. backed by The family and country house of BludanielThe event allows, according to Mayor Pierre Guiziot, to “connect the world of agriculture with the public”. “It is a display of the rural world, a display of technical knowledge of soils and territories,” the elected official appreciated. This meeting, which brews on a grand scale, is at the crossroads of the folk festival, the agricultural fair and the gastronomic fair. This year, the former President of the Republic, François Hollande, will open and preside over the event. He must be present on site on Saturday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m.
“Since 2005, the Forum has been opened internationally. Every year, we choose a country that demonstrates this openness to the world. Therefore, after Senegal in 2022, this year we chose Portugal,” said President Xavier Giavarche. For this, the latter approached the APRB, the Association of Portuguese in the Brest Region. Performances and touring by popular groups will punctuate the weekend. On Saturday evenings a traditional meal will be served with music (€20, by reservation at 06 63 38 45 42). Finally, on Sunday, a Mass will be celebrated in honor of Our Lady of Fatima followed by a religious procession at 10:30 am in the Bludaniel Church.
The budget of the BluDaniel Forum today is about 130,000 euros. It is not easy to balance it. Especially since the organizers want to keep the event free for visitors, who regularly number between 15,000 and 20,000 over the two days. Subsidies from communities or the private sector, restaurants and refreshments, sale of advertising space and sale of exhibitor space make it possible to balance finances.
“This year, we will have 125 exhibitors,” assures Xavier Giavarc. Among them are believers who have been returning for years or even decades. On the list of these endless stalls are wine, gastronomy, habitat, services, crafts, luxury and gardening without forgetting the professionals of the agricultural world. “We try to favor structures that have started, sometimes of a more modest size,” the president continues. To accommodate all these little people, the party occupies more than two hectares, moving, throughout the weekend, through a rich program of festivities?
