The top scorer scored with Wolves at Nottingham Forest (1-1) on Saturday during the 29th day of the English Premier League, Daniel Bodence’s fumble with Brennan Johnson was also noted. It seemed that the Portuguese spat on his opponent but despite the use of the video assistant referee technology, the referee did not punish him.
Tension in the City Ground. Nottingham Forest was the scene of an electric match against Wolverhampton (1-1) on Saturday as part of Day 29 of the English Premier League. Daniel Bodence is one of the main players on this no-winner label. Entering the second half in place of former Monaco Moutinho, the Portuguese striker equalized late in the game (83rd). But the Wolves player was also noticed by what seemed to be a very ugly gesture.

During an altercation with Cheikhou Kouyate at the start of overtime, Podence, looking at the photos, appears to spit in the direction of Brennan Johnson, the game’s other scorer. However, despite the use of VAR and multiple slowdowns, the Portugal international (one pick) was not penalized by referee Chris Kavanagh.
Did Podence escape a red card because the VAR teams had no official proof that he had spat properly? It’s hard to say. After the meeting, Brennan-Johnson downplayed this fact of the match: “I don’t remember it clearly, I don’t want to talk too much about it, he just commented on the BBC’s microphone. I saw a movement but they (the VAR) saw it and made their decision.”
