Portuguese grocery store opens in Blois

A Portuguese grocery store was opened at 5, rue André Paul, under the name Produits du Portugal Ets Mariano. Its owner, Victor Mariano, arrived in France at the age of twenty, and remained in Mere for a long time, where he was one of the founders of the Friends of Portugal football club.

Meanwhile, he set up his first grocery store on the site in 1980, which he ran for twelve years before setting up his company headquarters in Orleans. He currently heads a group of 700 employees in 28 stores. When he wanted to find his local clientele, which he considers to be half French and half Portuguese, he turned to Blois.

Her establishment offers a wide selection of cold cuts, cheeses, wines and spirits, mostly Portuguese, with some Spanish references, and a weekend speciality: a catering service, consisting mainly of grilled meats. Two employees, Carla and Manuela, handle the sales.

Products from Portugal Ets Mariano: 5 André Paul Street. Open from Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm, as well as Sunday from 9 am to 12 pm. Contact: Tel. 06.83.17.97.48 and 02.38.22.12.22
