Arrived the day before, after 16 hours of travel, a class of 23 young Poles and their companions were welcomed, Tuesday 10 May, at Jan XXIII High School in Quentin, as part of the Erasmus + project “European Heritage, flax at the root”. Young Poles, coming from Paslek, in the province of Warmia-Masuria, are housed in the Henri-Guérin Center in Saint-Brieuc. Until May 19, they will share the activities of their partners from Segpa 5th and 4th classes of Quintin High School, and discover the region’s rich heritage around flax.
Portuguese prediction for the weekend
In the programme, a visit to La Fabrique, a linen workshop, and the discovery of Quintin in the footsteps of Tadeusz Cyprian, a young Polish soldier in a garrison at Quintin in 1919, are found photographs of his stay at Quintin. This will be followed by visits to Saint-Thélo and Uzel, weaving workshops and a trip to Saint-Malo.
Young Portuguese students are expected to come from Portimão on Friday, May 13th. “This will be the last meeting of the young people who met during our trip to Poland and Portugal,” explains Isabelle Aubry, who with Catherine Savary implements the Quentin High School project. This wonderful adventure, supported by the Franco-Polish association Côtes-d’Armor Warmie-Masurie, for young people will end on Wednesday 18 May with a grand festive event in the Jean-XXIII Hall.
