We announced that in our edition of Thursday September 22nd, Franco/Portuguese Day was organized on Sunday 25th, by the Quinte Foncegraves Twinning Association, chaired by Ilie dos Santos. Because of the presence of a strong Portuguese community in the city and its surroundings, well integrated and involved in the life of the community, the decision to pair Quint-Fonsegrive with the city of Leiria in Portugal. Since then, there have been many regular exchanges and meetings between representatives of municipalities and associations in the two cities. Also, it has now become a tradition that once a year a party is organized bringing together mostly Portuguese citizens from the Leiria region and their quintet friends. So they were more than a hundred and fifty, gathered around a good meal prepared by a local caterer and among them, we can notice the presence of the Mayor Jean-Pierre Gasse, and at his side his predecessor Bernard Solera Mayor Emeritus, both of them. accompanied by their wives. After words of welcome by President dos Santos, the mayor wished everyone a good day. Before going to the table, all participants applaud the Portuguese anthem, followed by the Marsilla, which was played by the country house music school. A very nice Franco/Portuguese day that everyone appreciates.
