The 21st edition of the golf tournament benefiting the MRC de L'Islet Health Services Foundation, in collaboration with Promutuel Assurance Côte-Sud, will be held on August 19 at the Saint-Pamphile Golf Club. To head this fundraising activity, the Foundation invited two “heart of the heart” personalities from the region, Mrs. Regan Saint-Amant and Mr. Clement Fortin. Remember, this tournament raises approximately $25,000 annually that is redistributed to health care provided to the residents of the Lesliet MRC.
According to the foundation, these two individuals are very involved in the Saint-Omer and Lislet-Sud community. Ms. Saint-Amand was, among other things, an officer of the Association of Pensioners of the Island of L'Ile-Sud, a member of the board of directors of the Fund Desjardins du Sud de L'Ile-Sud, a municipal councillor, a member of the Leisure Commission and chairman of the board of directors of Fabrique de Saint-Omer. She will always be active in the community and participate in various committees. For his part, Mr. Fortin participated in the creation of the Saint-Omer Parish Guard and served as its president for 36 years. Under his leadership, this organization established Loto-Fabrique which ensured the financial health of the church and various social and liturgical activities, including the fiftieth anniversary of the parish. He also participated as church director, school commissioner and mayor for several years. He will also always be willing to help his community.
The “favorite” personalities will be present at the cocktail party that will be held after the tournament. They invite people to participate and take the opportunity to interact with them.
