[Retour sur] Is science in Orne

On Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19, 2024, Orne was in the spotlight at Goof! Scientists and researchers from the University of Lorain met with the general public to learn more about this river they have been studying for a decade. In Orne, there is water but also invisible molecules and elements. The water can be clear, is it clean? If it's cloudy, is it polluted? To know this, it is important to be able to measure all the components of the water. Using simple experiments, the researchers showed how to measure the physical and chemical properties of water.

Researchers in the field of hydrology and geochemistry presented the different tools they use to monitor the water quality of the Orne River over time: a laboratory truck, water and sediment sampling tools, a drone and measuring devices, everything to immerse yourself in field work!
