Unveiled in 2015, it was presented in the first model when it was launched in the same year and in the second model in 2019. This caliber includes the patented Chronergy escapement, which combines high energy efficiency with outstanding operational safety. Made of nickel and phosphorus, this escapement resists high magnetic fields.
The movement also includes the blue Parachrom hairspring that Rolex produced from a magnetic alloy. This hairspring also has great stability in the face of temperature changes as well as high resistance to shocks.
It is also equipped with a Rolex terminal curve that ensures uniformity of walking in all positions. The oscillator is mounted on high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, developed and patented by the brand, giving the movement increased resistance to shocks.
As for the oscillating weight, it is equipped with a ball bearing that has been improved since 2023.
The caliber 3255 (COCS) is operated by an automatic winding system using a permanent rotor. Thanks to its barrel structure and the superior efficiency of its escapement, it benefits from a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
The Day-Date 40 and Day-Date 36 come with a President bracelet. Created specifically for the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date and unveiled in 1956 when this watch was launched, this three-link bracelet is made exclusively in 18 ct gold or 950 platinum, and to this day is still reserved for the Day Date as well as the Datejust in precious metals.
Featuring an invisible crown clasp and a folding clasp, this watch includes ceramic inserts within its links – designed and patented by Rolex – which improve wearability and longevity. These watches are guaranteed for five years.
