Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia played a strong match against Portugal on Wednesday, contributing significantly to the 2-0 victory, which qualified his team to the round of 16 of Euro 2024 in Germany.
Better yet, Kvaratskhelia, a player who plays in Naples, Italy, did so by beating his idol, Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

This was not the first meeting between the two men.
More than ten years ago, Ronaldo visited the Georgian club Dinamo Tbilisi's academy when it opened. It was clearly a great moment for the young players at the academy, including… Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
After Wednesday's match, in which he scored his team's first goal, Kvaratskhelia rushed to see Ronaldo to ask him for his shirt.
“I had a Ronaldo shirt, yes. And before the match he wished me well. That means a lot to me. I never imagined that he could come and talk to me. He is a great player and a great person, on and off the pitch,” he said afterwards.
