Sporting coach Ruben Amorim would have threatened to leave his post if Christian or Ronaldo were to stick with the club.
Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim is ready to resign if Cristiano Ronaldo is to commit to his team. According to The Times daily, the Portuguese coach is strongly against the arrival of the five-time Ballon d’Or from Manchester United.
Amorim does not want CR7 in his team, and does not agree to the club management signing players without his consent.
Ronaldo is not wanted at home
On Saturday evening, after his team’s league loss to Chavez, Amorim was asked about the Ronaldo rumor and his alleged desire to throw in the towel if the United star fell. “I can’t guarantee anything. Ronaldo is a Manchester United player and I think he will stay that way.”
Ronaldo (37) played a substitute again with the Red Devils on Saturday during the match against Southampton (0-1). His future remains unclear, and there’s a good chance the suspense surrounding him will extend into the transfer window closing date. His options, which seemed numerous, are diminishing as that famous deadline approaches.
