Exiled in Saudi Arabia since January 2023, then joined by several stars this summer – Karim Benzema, Neymar, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante – Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about his future.
The former Juventus and Real Madrid striker made the decision to leave Europe after a conflict with Manchester United. A substitute under the orders of Erik Ten Hag, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner gave a sensational interview, precipitating his departure from the English club, via contract termination.
Upon his arrival at Al Nassr in January 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo signed for two seasons.
“I still have a lot to show”
In response to a question after Al-Nasr’s victory over Al-Ahly (4-3), the Portuguese double-winner said that he still has a lot of fuel to continue his career: “I still have a lot to give. I still love playing football. I always love to score goals. I always love to win. They say Ronaldo is finished, but I’ve proven that’s not true. (…) I will keep going until my legs say: ‘Cristiano,’ it’s all over”.

The 38-year-old international has scored 123 goals in 201 international appearances and is performing well this season, scoring 9 goals and making 5 assists in 8 matches, in all competitions.
The best league in the world in the future?
In any case, the former Sporting Lisbon player is ambitious for the Saudi Championship. According to the Portuguese’s statements dating back nearly a month, the competition between Al-Nasr, Al-Ahly, Al-Hilal, and even Al-Ittihad will become “The best” union “From the world”. In reality, “ambitious” Championship is “To compete with, or even surpass, the biggest leagues on the Old Continent.”. A very ambitious scenario, which nevertheless points to the still intact mentality of Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the striker has recently been able to see that his popularity rating remains healthy. While traveling to Iran to take part in the AFC Champions League, the Portuguese sparked riots with his mere presence.
