As part of the national Operation Pink October, the city of Saint-Jean is strengthening its commitment to the fight against breast cancer. On Wednesday, October 16, a special day will be held in the Palumbo space, which is open to everyone. Objective: To raise awareness about screening and prevention of this disease that affects many women every year. This day will emphasize the importance of examination through practical workshops, including “Learning to Examine Myself,” allowing you to learn about self-examination procedures on mannequins. The psychological aspect associated with the announcement of the disease will also be addressed, whether from the perspective of the patient or the doctor, thanks to the intervention of health workers and influential testimonies. Meanwhile, workshops organized by CPAM throughout the afternoon will inform and support participants in understanding prevention approaches. In addition, volunteers from the Dragon Boat Ladies Toulouse Association will be present to present their activities, which focus on the well-being of women with breast cancer through the practice of paddling. Finally, mobilization extends to other local actors. Saint-Jean Tennis Club has already helped organize a women's doubles tournament and an introduction to yoga on October 6. La Mosaïque Gallery is also participating in the event with its exhibition “Girl Power” which runs until October 16.
The city's commitment to this fight demonstrates a strong desire to raise awareness and support all people affected by breast cancer.
This day is free and requires registration with CCAS – 05 32 09 68.
