A 5-year-old boy who was walking with other children during his preschool group’s outing in Poland was stabbed to death by a 71-year-old bystander.
“In Poznań, a group of children […] Who was walking with their teachers was the victim of a shameful knife attack. The attacker was arrested by a police officer […] “Which passed the scene of the accident while she was off duty,” Polish police claimed she tweeted, according to what The Sun reported.
On Wednesday morning, the group was walking in the Lazares neighborhood when the children were ambushed by a 71-year-old passerby with a knife, according to police.
Unfortunately, one of them was stabbed before another bystander and an off-duty police officer could get the man out of harm’s way.
The 5-year-old, who suffered a cardiac arrest, was reportedly taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The rest of the group will be transferred to a nearby day care home, where their parents will be called.
For his part, the seventy-year-old would have been placed under arrest. An investigation has been opened to shed light on the circumstances and motives of this attack.
