A woman has reportedly been stuck in her car seat for three whole days after an accident in Scotland. She stayed next to the body of her friend, who died instantly.
Lamara Bell was already seriously injured when her mental health was affected by being alone for dozens of hours next to a dead body.
The unusual story happened in 2015 and was caused by local police: an officer failed to register a report that a vehicle had been seen in the bushes of a road in Stirlingshire, Scotland, according to information from daily Mail.
A judge said at the end of May 2024 that the “organizational failure” of the Scottish police was to blame, according to British media reports.
It was allegedly the farmer who discovered the woman in the car calling for help. This time the police arrived at the scene to rescue her.
However, they arrived too late: the 25-year-old died in hospital four days later.
According to Sheriff James Williamson, M.DI Bell reportedly suffered “almost incomprehensible” pain before his death.
The investigation reportedly revealed that the man, John Yuill, suffered irreparable injuries in the accident, while Lamara Bell likely would have survived had she received medical treatment. She would still have long-term neurological deficits, investigators said.
