CLEVELAND, OH – Steelers’ recipient Chase Claypole explained Thursday that he was “salty” about Brown because they were “too out-of-place” toward JuJu Smith-Schuster during and after their 48-37 win on the wildcard tour.
One day after the match, Claypool said on a live TikTok broadcast, “It’s a bad loss, but Brown will clap next week, so it’s all good.”
He also tore the corner back Robert Jackson.
Claypool says Brown will be applauded by bosses
Brown’s players like Sion Takitaki, Adrian Claiborne and Karim Hunt responded to Claypool’s comments.
In an interview with DAZN Canada on Thursday, Claypole explained why he made the remarks.
He said, “Not that I pray they have to get really beaten badly, but someone asked me to anticipate the outcome and that was just a way of saying that I think Browns would defeat Brown.” “If the Browns won a little more, I wouldn’t be too salty about it. But they make fun of JuJu [Smith-Schuster] During and after the match I didn’t sit well with me. ”
Asked about a description of what they were doing, Claypole said, “ They were just classless, you know against JuJu, towards JuJu what they were saying on the pitch at the end of the match, so I will not respect any team that does not respect us. ”
He said he didn’t mind Takitaki and Clayborne applauding him – and they got another chance.
“They can enjoy winning and another week of football, but they’ll be on the sofa next to me, so it’s all good,” he said.
Takitaki dismissed Klaypool’s “classless” comments on Thursday.
“I have nothing to say about that,” Takitaki said in an interview with Zoom on Thursday. “I feel like the game is over. We don’t play these guys. We want to lock down Kansas. But he’s clearly a great player. Great player, good kid. But, yeah, we’re locked in Kansas. When we hear all of that, we passed that way too far.”
