The 1/32 final of the Portuguese Cup should be a formality for FC Porto, winner of the last three editions. In fact, the Dragons go for the humble formation of Sintrense that plays in Portuguese D3. Sintrense won the 1/64 Portuguese Cup Final painfully against Estrela Vendas Novas (2-1) on 22 September. Qualification confirmed by four points in the league at Estadio Loletano (1-1) and against FC Barirense (3-2) on October 6.
FC Porto enters the competition and is supposed to achieve its 22nd consecutive victory in the Portuguese Cup. Since its failure against Bodo/Glimt (3-2) in the Europa League on September 25, FC Porto, runner-up to Sporting Lisbon, has achieved 3 good performances in its last 3 matches. The Dragons crushed Aruka (4-0) in the league before getting a draw against Manchester United (3-3) in the European arena, then beating Sporting Braga (2-1) on October 6. Spanish international under-21 striker Samu, who scored a hat-trick against Malta (6-0) on October 15, scored 7 goals in his last 6 matches with a Porto shirt. The latter could stand out during this cup run if he is backed by his coach.
