After 43 days of escaping, on Wednesday in Costa Rica an American woman suspected of murdering the ex-lover of her boyfriend was found in Costa Rica.
Yoga teacher Caitlin Marie Armstrong has been seen at a hostel in Puntarenas, and is to be deported to the United States.
On May 11, Ms. Armstrong, 34, shot Anna Moriah “Moe” Wilson, a 25-year-old professional cyclist, in Texas. Investigators believe it was an act of jealousy.
The athlete had already attended, from October to November 2021, Colin Strickland, who is also a professional cyclist and friend of Caitlin Marie Armstrong. By then, Mr. Strickland and Mrs. Armstrong were no longer together.
A few days later, on May 17, police issued a wanted warrant for the murder of Ms. Armstrong. The next day, the latter used a false passport to take a flight to San Jose, Costa Rica.
On the day of her death, May 11, Mrs. Wilson told her friends that she was planning to take a shower with Mr. Strickland. After swimming, the two go to dinner, says Mr.
At the end of the evening, he brought her back to one of her friends, where she was staying temporarily to get ready for the race. But it does not go inside the house.
Just before 10 pm, the young woman was found dead, with several gunshot wounds.
On May 19, Colin Strickland admitted to hiding text messages exchanged between him and Ms. Wilson.
According to a mentor, Ms. Armstrong believed that Strickland and the 25-year-old were still dating in January 2022.
Caitlin Marie Armstrong even called her multiple times to tell her not to go near her boyfriend, according to a person close to Ms. Armstrong.
However, Wilson’s family says she was not romantically involved at the time of her death.
