Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tasty Retro

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge It is more than just a video game. It’s a love letter to the golden age of arcades and to our childhood heroes.

hardly a part of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge We started to feel like we had found the corner arcade where we spent our afternoons – and our weeknights – with a group of friends. The feel is familiar and comfortable, but above all very pleasant.

In short, the smell of nostalgia is strong. Because here we reconnect with Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael in an unprecedented adventure that borrows the icons and aesthetics of the ’80s; Rhythmic electronic music, linear and 2D track, colorful and cut graphics…everything is there but decorated with a touch of modernity.

true in the era

Our bombed-out heroes are back this time on the streets of New York to foil the plans of their archenemy, Shredder. To do so, they will have to fend off the attacks of hordes of minions and the Foot Clan’s minions during 13 separate chapters.

But our turtles are not alone; April O’Neal, Splinter and Casey Jones also take their place in the arena, completing the set of seven characters to choose from.

Admittedly, the process becomes repetitive, and the battles end up similar to each other over the seasons. But that’s part of the mores of the time, even from the very concept of arcade games. So it can be easily overlooked, especially with a generous offering of characters to choose from and individual skills and characteristics that come to change the experience.

And the best thing about it all? We can join forces with five additional players to replace the enemy armies online or take on Krang, Bebop and other Rocksteady. Would you rather play locally? Three friends can join you in front of the TV to embody these heroes locally.

So, our cherished Ninja Turtles’ shell may have been stained and softened by their recent adventures on the big screen, and the letters of the gentry have finally found thanks to the Montreal Tribute Games studio.

We can already hear the crowd chanting “Cowabunga!”
