Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who trained the young Turkish talent at Fenerbahce last season, believes he was actively involved when he arrived in Madrid.
Portuguese technician Jorge Jesus (68), who signed with the Saudi club Al-Hilal this season, made a stunning statement in which he sees himself as a key figure in Arda Guler’s transfer to Real Madrid this season.
“My thanks are that Arda Guler has arrived at Real Madrid,” Jorge Jesus gushed, adding, “And he knows that too.” The Portuguese coached the young Turkish star when he was at Fenerbahçe, a club that Amadora’s man led from the sidelines in the 2022-23 season.
Jorge Jesus added, “Guler had the chance to show himself because I gave him enough time to play in the right matches at the right time. I’m glad I taught him how to play football properly.”

summer feeling
A €20m transfer, youngster Arda is this pre-season sensation who started at Valdebebas earlier this week, perhaps even ahead of Jude Bellingham. Al Turki continues to impress in training and seems to have already won the hearts of the fans.
It remains to be seen what role Ancelotti has in store for him, as the Real Madrid coach has also made it clear that he intends to change his tactical system to deal with this new season. Some answers on this topic should be given during the team’s first friendlies in the United States.
