Google Play Store removes restrictions that no longer really make sense. It is now possible to update three apps at the same time.
First spotted back in March, downloading multiple apps from the Play Store is finally here and it’s going further than expected. As a reminder, the Play Store is Google’s official app store for Android devices.
At first, it seemed like the Play Store would allow its users to download two apps at the same time. Two was better than one, but it seemed too limiting. Especially since the functionality was limited to new installs and did not apply to updates.
Up to three parallel downloads
From now on, and we were able to test it on Google Pixel in the editorial office, it is possible to update several applications at the same time. According to our observations, three applications can be downloaded and installed at the same time.
Enough to keep your smartphone updated more easily, where before you had to wait for one app to complete its process before launching the next one. At a time when storage space is more important than ever, and internet connections allow apps to be downloaded in seconds, this limitation no longer makes sense.
This new feature is only available on Android smartphones and tablets at the time of writing.
