The curtain will be raised on the four-day government schools science festival at various venues here on Thursday.
St. Joseph Senior Secondary School, near the General Hospital, will host the science fair. Government Model Senior Secondary School for Girls Mathematics Exhibition; Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Cotton Hill, Social Science Fair and IT Fair; St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School, Pathum, Work Experience Fair; and Karthika Thirunal Government Vocational and Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mannakod, career fair, career festival and entertainment programmes, said Director of Public Education Shanavas S. At a press conference held here on Tuesday.
Mr Shanavas will raise the flag at Cotton Hill School at 10am on Thursday. At 11 a.m., Speaker A.N. will inaugurate. Shamsir Science Festival in Government Schools.
The farewell ceremony will be held at 4 pm on Sunday. VK Prasanth, MLA, will hand over the awards.
The first day of the exhibition will be dedicated to registration at Government Model Secondary School for Boys, Thekode, and competitions will be held from Friday to Sunday.
Nearly 7,500 high school, senior high and vocational school students will participate in the state festival. Students who place in the top two at the district level will participate in the state event.
There are approximately 180 events in total – 18 of which are in the science fair; 29 in the mathematics exhibition. 15 in the Social Sciences Exhibition. 102 in the work experience exhibition; And 16 at the Information Technology Exhibition. Food has been arranged at Government Model Lower Primary School in Thikode. Accommodation has been arranged for students and teachers in 21 schools within the city limits.
