The computer player screams, and the neighbors call the police
Two loud screams in a community in Schleswig-Holstein. Male voice, female voice. The neighbors are worried and ring the doorbell, but no one opens the door. They call the police and find a young man who cannot control his emotions when he plays.
A 21-year-old man launched a police and firefighter operation in the municipality of Sossel in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Lübeck police said neighbors heard “a woman’s high-pitched screams and a man’s loud voice,” followed by a “supernatural roaring” coming from her home on Monday evening. When no one in the building responded to the bell and rang, residents called the emergency number.
According to police, eyewitnesses also reported seeing lights in the house and a clearly visible human figure. However, when first responders arrived, the building was plunged into darkness again. When no one answered doorbells, window knocks or landline calls from police, officers assumed an emergency and called the fire department to open the door.
“Emotions came from time to time.”
Shortly before firefighters arrived at the building, the homeowner showed up and allowed emergency responders inside with the key, authorities said. During a subsequent search, the cause of the commotion was found: the owner’s 21-year-old son was playing a computer game in a dark room with headphones on his head.
According to his statements, he was not aware that the neighbors and the police had tried to contact him. According to officials, the distraught man also said that he “was turning on the sound during the video game and his emotions would escape him from time to time.” The operation ended with “great satisfaction.”
