Start dusting off your neurons, as Dark Deity is coming to Switch on March 17th.
The first game from Sword and Ax (a very small independent studio of 6 people), we play Irving, a young soldier training at Brookstead Military Academy who finds himself driven into a massive war.
If the images remind you of a particular Nintendo franchise, that’s normal; Dark Deity is designed as a homage to Fire Emblem, and more specifically episodes of the GBA era. If you’ve played these episodes, you know what to expect; A set of unit classes, charming pixelated graphics and a level of difficulty for most people.
Launched as a surprise at E3 last summer, Dark Deity was an unexpected success for a relatively unknown first game until then; The title briefly found itself at the top of Steam sales.
We’ve promised improvements to this Switch version like a new, more detailed scene, new weapons as well as redesigned lighting effects.
Dark Deity will be offered for $24.99 (about C$31 or €22) and will be available in several languages, including English, French and Japanese.
