The biased decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union on fishing and agricultural agreements between the European Union and Morocco has sparked a chain reaction of disapproval within European countries. Below is a translation of press release From the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Portugal took note of the decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union issued on October 4 regarding the agreements concluded between the European Union and Morocco in the areas of marine fishing and the liberalization of agricultural products.
Portugal considers the partnership between the European Union and Morocco necessary and will work with European partners and European institutions to deepen it in all fields.
Portugal and Morocco also have a strategic partnership, at the bilateral level, characterized by a long relationship of respect and wide-ranging friendship at the political, diplomatic and economic levels.
In this year, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Peace Treaty, strengthening relations with Morocco, whether in the bilateral or European framework, constitutes a strategic priority for Portugal.
