Portuguese goalkeeper, Jose Sa, played his 100th match with Wolverhampton during his team’s victory over Chelsea (2-4).
On Tuesday against Chelsea, in the 23rd round of the English Premier LeagueJose Sa has reached the symbolic mark of 100 appearances for Wolves. He is now the 10th most capped goalkeeper in the club's history, tied with Phil Parkes.
Upon his arrival in July 2021, the 31-year-old goalkeeper was appointed to replace the departure of his compatriot and squad-mate, Rui Patricio. The former Porto player played his first match on August 14, 2021, against Leicester City, under the supervision of Bruno Lage. In 100 matches, he conceded 134 goals and kept 27 clean sheets.
Regularly called up by Portugal for several years, José Sa was finally able to play his first match for the Seleção, on November 16, 2023. His team won, 2-0, over Liechtenstein.
