The “Sete Sóis Sete Luas” festival returns to Tunis

After its first stop in Tunisia in 2013, the traveling festival of Mediterranean and Portuguese-speaking music “Sete Sóis Sete Luas” or “Seven Suns Seven Moons”, the result of an Italian-Portuguese collaboration in 1993, returns this year to Testor and Los Angeles. Anchorage with three evenings to the rhythm of Portuguese Fado, a popular urban song from Portugal, inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The first phase of this festival, designed to be staged outside the capitals, will take place in the picturesque city of Testour (June 10), followed by shows in Tunisia (June 11 and 12) on Agora Square, in the heart of the city. From the marina.

The concert will be performed by singer Soraya Branco, a promising Portuguese voice for Fado, accompanied by Rui Boco on Portuguese guitar and João Domingo on guitar.

Created in 1993, the Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival is a project promoted by a cultural network of 30 cities from ten countries in the Mediterranean and the Portuguese-speaking world: Brazil, Cape Verde, Croatia, France, Italy, Luxembourg. Morocco, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Tunisia. The Festival develops its projects mainly in the field of popular, ethnic, traditional and contemporary music and visual arts, in which important figures from European and Mediterranean cultures always participate.

Supported by the European Union and sponsored by several Nobel Prize winners, the Festival advocates intercultural dialogue, the mobility of network artists, and the creation of original forms of artistic production.

This is an artistic movement project that promotes the arts and cultures of each country within this wide network of more than 30 cities, through the organization of contemporary popular music concerts, exhibitions (painting, sculpture, photography, video art, street art, etc.), musical and artistic residencies, gastronomy and productions.
