On Wednesday, January 6, hundreds of President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed their way inside the Capitol building during the Electoral College vote-counting ceremony to confirm the victory of President-elect Joe Biden.
While watching videos of the riot, Kirby said he “noticed someone wearing a Trump / Captain America shirt” and thought he “peeked at someone wearing Captain America’s armor” – photos he said he found revolting.
Kirby said Captain America defended what was right without holding back, and the underdog.
“My dad, Jack Kirby and Joe Simon, the creators of Captain America and World War II veterans, will be very angry at these pictures,” Kirby said. “These pictures are an insult to all of their memories.”
