“In short, at the military level there is stagnation,” believes Simon Leduc, a former officer in military intelligence.
In particular, he compares the situation in Ukraine to the game of hockey that was played between an NHL team, Russia, and a school club team, Ukraine.
“We are in the second half, and then there is still 0 – 0. Since the teams have different levels of strength, it is the NHL team, just like Russia, that loses everything. It is a stagnation that gives the impression that Russia is losing, even if there is equality On the ground.
The former officer also notes that the current war in Ukraine has become a war of “attrition”.
The Russians stated that the reason for the lack of progress was US assistance. It’s as if the pro hockey team said the school team and club were drugged, which explains why the two teams are on the same level.”
According to Simon Leduc, Russia still has room for maneuver regarding the economic dimension, even if there is a flaw.
Defeating the Kremlin means as many losses as investigations into war crimes or having to pay construction work to Ukraine. But I don’t think the Kremlin can lose. In terms of nuclear weapons, the Russians have an advantage.
