(Kyiv) Several explosions were heard Monday morning in Kyiv, exactly one week after the Russian strikes on the Ukrainian capital, AFP journalists reported.

Three consecutive explosions were heard around 6:35 AM, 6:45 AM and 6:58 AM (3:35 AM, 3:45 AM and 3:58 AM GMT). The sirens were sounding shortly before the first explosion.
On Monday, October 10, Russian bombing on a scale unparalleled in months hit Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine, killing at least 19 people, wounding 105 and sparking international outrage.
On Tuesday, Russia, which has suffered several military setbacks recently, continued to launch on a smaller scale, striking in particular energy facilities in western Ukraine far from the front.
The fire was fired in response to the explosion that partially destroyed the strategically important Russian Crimean bridge.
On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin was satisfied with these massive strikes, arguing that new, large-scale bombing of Ukraine’s cities was not necessary “for the time being”.
