Two French lovers, separated in 2007, had promised to meet again no matter what 20 years later at a specific meeting point, but only one of them finally showed up.
The man had decided to go there on Tuesday, to a town in northeastern France, after asking his community's opinion about X, Le Parisien newspaper reported.
Therefore, the young man took the train on March 19, 2024, to cover the 500 kilometers that separated him from the meeting place.
“I'm on my way to a meeting where I have a 99.9% chance of being alone,” he said, confirming that he no longer has feelings for his ex-lover.
He added: “I will go because I have not forgotten this promise and this day has come… I believe that the severity of the story and the brutality of separation and time made me sanctify this story.”
After waiting for 30 minutes, the ex decided to go home.
“After all, the fact that she didn't come is completely normal. I'm the odd man out in the story. No one goes to a meeting that's scheduled twenty years later,” he admitted.
