A dog whose owners left it at Dublin Airport, Ireland, and were unable to board it, has now found a new foster family.
The Irish Independent newspaper reported that the traveling couple, who did not want to miss their flight on the eve of the holiday period, left the dog tied to a pole in the port area.
This misunderstanding is due to an administrative problem, because if the dog owners have the administrative papers required to enter Ireland with their animal, but not to leave.
Police spotted the pet tied to a pole with his passport next to him in the middle of the night and he was handed over to My Lovely Horse Rescue, an animal rights organisation.
“You have to follow a different procedure. We can't just get on a plane and leave, that's not the way it works,” said organization coordinator Martina Kenny.
Ms Kenny said the dog rescued by the charity had already found a foster family with a vet, and expressed concern about this phenomenon of abandoned animals.
According to the Animal Rights Society, dog abandonment is becoming more common in the country, especially in Dublin due to the housing crisis.
