At least that's what happened during the recovery operation when a hundred books in good condition were found removed from the shelves of the Rouyn-Noranda municipal library.

According to Valérie Duhaime of the Rouen-Noranda Municipal Library and Genevieve Boucher of the Réseau Biblio, this result is due to pruning work on their collection.

Although it is heartbreaking, this work is done in order to keep the library's collections up to date.

So it's reference books and documentaries, like old encyclopedias, that end up being recycled.

When contacted for this topic, the general manager of Corcovado in Rouyn-Noranda, Ghislaine Dallaire, mentioned the impact of new technologies.

Technologies such as Internet search engines make the use of specialized books obsolete.

Despite everything, different organizations are working on finding solutions to avoid as much loss as possible.

There are between 9,000 and 10,000 books in the Réseau Biblio store.

So a call is being made to all before they embark on the path to recovery.
