World Pain Day: Caregivers on the front lines
No one is safe from lower back pain, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, hematomas, etc.
Yesterday, caregivers, like users, were looking for a solution to a widely common problem: pain.
At the Saint Maus Hospital in Toulon, it all started with a conference on the subject of low back pain, with the observation: Physical inactivity traps the patient in a vicious circle.
Appropriate physical activities can improve quality of life. The same advice for osteoarthritis, and many other diseases that “poison” our daily lives.
Dr. Stephanie Vassie, Chair of the CLUD Committee on Pain, was on hand to answer questions and provide documentation and practical advice, with an original approach: raising awareness of complementary, non-pharmacological approaches.
If you are familiar with hypnosis and the practice of shiatsu, you may wonder what subcutaneous resonance is… It is actually “needleless acupuncture”, used especially in pediatrics. A practice born in the Var, and until now dedicated to caregivers.
A day of discussions and information that also made it possible to address the examination of neuropathic pain and the risks of opioid overdose, with, in conclusion, a piece of advice: physical activity is “also” an analgesic….
