Towards a partial pardon for Roy Pinto in the context of “Football Lakes”?

The end of the trial of the Football Leaks writer, who is being tried in Portugal for hacking and attempted extortion, has been postponed because Rui Pinto could benefit from a pardon due to the upcoming visit of Pope Francis. The Lisbon court said in a statement that the reading of the verdict, which was scheduled to take place after an initial postponement, tomorrow, was set for July 31. François is set to travel to Portugal on the occasion of World Youth Days, which will be held in the Portuguese capital from August 1 to 6.

In this context, the Portuguese government announced its intention to grant amnesty for some crimes committed by young men between the ages of 16 and 30 at the time of the events. Now, 34, Roy Pinto can therefore be pardoned for some of the offenses for which he is responding in the trial, which opened in September 2020.
