Ellis is under quarantine after his trip out of New England, and Thackston said these provisions were already in place, and that he is using his personal time in quarantine. “He would go there and come back and need to be quarantined,” Thackston said. “There is no interruption of service or coverage, and no compensation or additional city expenses.” Thackston said that as far as he can tell, the posts calling for Ellis to step down are from people who do not live in Troy, and he believes the president has overwhelming support from the population.
